The title of my blog post is the title given to this painting by Greg Olsen. I felt this photo was appropriate for the experience I have recently had. I have always kept the commandments of heavenly father, and always will. We have just run into a "forgetful" chaotic state over the past few months between moving and stuff like that. We have forgot to pay our tithing and have had it build up to a large amount. Right now things are tight financially and we are running into me having to go to the dentist for a couple of cavities and possibly a root canal, and we don't have dental insurance so we are looking at over $1000. Well, this last Sunday I was getting ready and said to nephi, "we need to make sure and pay our tithing today. It has been building up and I don't want to be in debt with heavenly father anymore. It was stressful but we wrote the check and nephi handed over to the bishop after sacrament meeting. After that I felt at peace but stressed at the same time because of financial strain. But I knew that tithing was the most important thing we could do in this stressful moment. Well, today I was checking the mail and came across a letter from our homeowners insurance stating that there was an over-payment and that they were reimbursing us. Below was a check for $406.00. I felt a sense of humility come over me as I sat there. I knew that this was not a coincidence. It was our heavenly father allowing the fullness of the blessings he had in store for us to be released. Things work out when you do what is commanded. It might not work out on paper but some how it does. Today there was a higher hand in play. We were always planning to pay our tithing that was backed up, but the blessings didn't come until our bishop had the lords money. We were and always will be "in his constant care."

That is such an awesome story, thank you so much for sharing it! It's amazing to me that by paying that 10% we have more financial security than if we kept it. I am a firm believer in tithing! Way to go guys!
What a neat experience! Thanks for the good example. Oh, yeah- and I love that painting, too.
Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps confirm my testimony of tithing that much more! Where would we be if we didn't have the gospel and its principles in our lives ...scary to think about. You're such a great example.
that is a great story. You have always been so in tune, it is amazing Heavely Father humbles us and then pours out the blessings.
